Hello, and welcome to this second episode of my new podcast, 3DSCast!! In this episode, I’ll talk about why I wanted to cover and talk more about the 3DS family of handhelds (and probably the DS sometimes as well). 😉
The 3DS is a remarkable machine with an astounding library. It’s also a machine with personality, with soul. It also is an even more amazing device one it’s hacked. I lay out all of this in this episode, with a hint of what’s to come.
Thank you for listening, and I hope you enjoy the show!

I’d love to hear more! I’ve had my O3DS XL since around 2013, when I was in high school. My first game was Mario Kart 7. I already had some games with me since I have a DS Lite, but the points you made regarding the features of the 3DS is exactly why it’s amazing!
StreetPass was an amazing feature that was sadly gone. I remember going to the mall and whenever I get in the car or at home, I would always feel excited to see the little green light glow.
I’m also glad I got to buy my girlfriend her O3DS XL a few years ago (hers is pink!). Prices for the 3DS is skyrocketing right now, and it’s cool you got the special galaxy one!
I’m playing StreetPass while listening to the podcast, so it’s really cool that you mentioned StreetPass as well here!
Thank you again for listening and for such a lovely comment. Are you using Netpass for your Streetpasses?
I’m the type of person who prefers getting tags traditionally by passing people. But I do get tags from my girlfriend because we register each other on our friend list. If you register your friend through Pretendo, you get tags through StreetPass relay, like the time during Nintendo Zone.
I use FastPlayCoin to get play coins to play StreetPass, though!
OMG I’m on Pretendo and I wasn’t sure whether I was getting Streetpass stuff through that too. Amazing.
Heya! Nice podcast you are doing! Never listened to podcasts, but might just listen to this c:
A little correction / ellaboration: You said that the 3DS can play GBA games because of the DS having had GBA backwards compatability; while that is true, the DS actually uses the GBA CPU as a co-processor, so for DS compatability you have to have the GBA CPU as well. Similarily, the 3DS actually uses the DS CPU as co-processor while in 3DS mode.
Thank you for listening and for the correction. I’m still learning so much about these machines and am loving the journey.
